I just found out I am witch of the week - wicked  Grin Thanks guys for thinking of me - I would really however like to thank the fabric - which is the real star of the whole show!!

@lightninglisa:  I'm so glad you're feeling better dear!

@whenindoubtsew:  I told DH about the fact that an Australian Craftster was considering a US roadtrip.  He asked me to let you know that he'd be happy to take you to Mammoth Cave National Park here in Kentucky, which is the largest cave system in the world.  And to let you know you're invited to dinner.  He'll make jambalaya.  Wink

Hehe -it's been added to the list  Cheesy We are going to have to save our pennies as fast as we can!

So, I'd like to come back to my herbology assignment, where I made dill shortening cubes. I used some today to panfry salmon, and while the salmon was good, I think this method of preserving herbs would be better for sauces etc and not necessarily for frying.

@jennieingram, your husband's description of New England makes me think of any number of Texas jokes (where I'm from) - the main one being the one Texan who asks the other one if he's ever been up north, and he says, "Sure! I went to Dallas last year!"

@whenindoubtsew, I'd love to visit Australia! And if you get to Texas, let me know! We've got desert, beaches, forests, and prairie all in the same state - but you probably don't want to have to drive across all of it!

@lightninglisa, I'm glad you're feeling better, and the constellation embroidery is cool! If I had something like that, I might have a hope of actually knowing how to find something besides Orion. Cheesy

OWL Completed
OWL Subject & Option: Astronomy, Option Three
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Magic Mosaic
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This project excited me from the beginning. The idea of easily seeing the big picture at first glance but then, by paying closer attention, you see the all of the bits that create it, fascinates me. This phenomenon happens all over the place- in nature, architecture, math...etc. Maybe this mosaic will remind me to slow down and just pay attention to what I might be missing. Anyway, this is (an interpretation) of young Nicolaus Copernicus, the Renaissance astronomer whose heliocentric model displayed the Sun at the center of the universe.

@pottermouth, your OWL is amazing! It's such a great picture on its own, and then looking at all the smaller pictures it's made from - I could just stare at it. Cheesy

I agree that is really well done pottermouth!

My owl is progressing super slowly. I finally got the back off the quilt. I"m hoping to be able to start sewing the back on this weekend.
