~*October Quidditch Challenge*~
We have been working hard, and I have decided that we will unwind with a Quidditch Field Trip!  We are going to visit Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (WWW); you are sure to find something that makes you smile.

October's Quidditch Challenge is to craft an item one would find silly, inspired by a WWW product, OR inspired by Fred &  George.  This item CAN be submitted to ONE class as well.  Once you complete this challenge, you may snag your October Quidditch Badge AND a Fred Weasley CFC.

Have fun and SMILE! Grin

~*October Quidditch Badge*~

To claim your badge, right click and save to your computer.  Then, you can do whatever you wish with it.  Ideas on how to showoff your badges: use it as an avatar, put it in your profile under Brief Bio, or create a pinterest board for all your badges.  Can't find a badge?  Head to the Badge Station located on the first page, fifth post of this thread.

~*Chocolate Frog Card*~

That's right; you could earn a class badge, a quidditch badge, and a CFC all in one project! Cool

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

@noodle-bug:  Yes, the challenge was aimed at craftsters in the US, to register to vote in the November election here in the states.  Please forgive my ignorance, but are there other major elections in everyone's various countries this fall?  If so, I'd be happy to extend the challenge to everyone.

Belgium has local elections on Sunday, October fourteenth. Only foreigners need to register to vote, all Belgian nationals are automatically registered to vote and you can be fined if you don't come and vote. Voting is mandatory, not optional, which really makes all elections major elections to me, you can't just skip them. I think we're the only country in the world where that's the case. (Naturally, me having moved to the Netherlands, I'm not allowed to vote for Belgian local elections, only for national elections and EU-elections. I would get to vote in Dutch locals though.)

There are other countries where voting is compulsory: Australia for one, I'm sure there will be other though.

I took it up with Google, and you are right. I suppose that this is what happens when you only remember what opponents of compulsory voting say. It comes up once in a while and opponents will typically declare that compulsory voting is old-fashioned and nobody does it anymore. I suppose when they say nobody, they mean Northern Europe  Tongue

@Naantje & Antidigger:  Thanks for the info friends! I love learning new things.  Cheesy

How about this...

For those Craftsters in countries outside the US, who NEED to register in order to vote, you must do so, and post about why voting is important to you.

For those Craftsters in other countries who do NOT need to register in order to vote, you must simply post about why voting is important, and tell me an interesting fact about your country so we can all learn more new things!

And I'll be sure to post an alternate CFC for our international friends, just to add some variety!
