To help you navigate those stars, here’s your very own Firefly transport ship. When not in use, reducio for easy storage. And what better way to store a Firefly, than in a jar?

Brief Description: I found the recipe for these on Pinterest, and figured I'd try them out tonight. I think if I made them again I would add a bit more spice. Tomorrow I'll be taking them to my parents' house where a family friend will be visiting. RL has been a bit of a pain for her recently, so hopefully some sugary goodness will make her smile!

I also have some OWL progress to report! Here's 36 yards/1.2 oz of handspun! I tried winding the yarn onto my spindle a different way, and that combined with getting better allowed me to greatly increase the amount I could spin into one skein!

This should be warm and cozy for any Muggle suffering from a cold. I even put a charm on it to boost their immunity when exposed to cold.

Project Name: Ancient Head Covering

Brief Description: After attending a Ren Fair I decided to make a head covering that would help me blend in better with the time period. Using some dull white yarn I made a Snood. I used patterns from the 1940's to help me make it.

I also soaked it in tea to make it look older.

Project Name: Golden toes
Brief Description: So I had these ratty brown shoes, you know the one that have a comfortus spell included that become your favorite. The toes were all scraped up. I promised my husband I'd throw them out after I got new shoes, but I couldn't. Too comfy. But they looked awful. So I practiced some alchemy on them and painted the toes golden to hide the scratches.

Project Name: Flying ladybug quilt

Brief Description: My dear daughter needed a quilt to let her dream fly. The entire thing is done from gifted scrap fabric that was passed from a friend of mine that culled her stash of fabric. I made it in a day using a strip piecing technique, then quilted it in a random spiral based pattern to mimic ladybug flight.

Brief Description: This pillow was designed to go with my daughters quilt I did for flying class. She loved taking pillows with her and cuddling up to look at books. So I thought it would be comforting to her. I used scrap bits from the quilt and hand made three red yo-yos and stitched them to look like ladybugs.

Name: Winter overalls

I scored this fantastic narrow-wale corduroy at Value Village a few years ago, and have been saving it to make baby overalls.  Well, I finally did! 

The seams are nearly all flat-felled (I couldn't do the inner leg seam that way because of the construction), and the bib is lined with pink gingham as I ran out of corduroy to do a self-fabric lining.  It was a search to find the right size overall buckles, I tell you.




No baby in them because they're a 9 month size, and she's barely into 6 month!

Care of Magical Creatures/Make something a Niffler would love

Brief Description:  My friend really wants a Niffler.  (I suspect she is going to put it in Snape's office.)  I said that I would help her catch a Niffler so I came up with the idea of a Golden leaf necklace.  I took a set of graduated gold crystals and strung them with leaf shaped crystal.  The leaves have a mirror and AB spells on them to make them extra shiny.  The clasp is magnetic so when the Niffler grabs it she can unclasp it easily and drop the Niffler into a net.

Brief Description:  I've created my 10th square for the Knit a Square project. With the focus of Herbology I found a pattern for an oak leaf to knit into this square.
I used 55% Bamboo yarn with the rest made out of wool.
