Project: Quick Knit Bracelet
Brief Description: I'm so glad to be back on the practice field - I live around Muggles so I can't fly during vacation! But my hands get cold, so I made a quick bracelet out of soft wool as a wrist warmer.

(I didn't know if I could do this in an hour! The whole time I was knitting, I was thinking, "Do I know where my yarn needles are? And if I don't, do I have to count the time I spend looking for them? )

Love th cuff kit, super cute

So, I had an project I wanted to get finished during detention and I also had an hours worth of videos to watch for uni... now, those videos are DULL and I can only get through them if I'm doing something else (which I guess kinda defies the point....) and I figured, well, that's perfect for detention since it's a real chore. Anyway, I got down to doing that but when I was finished I realised I had mixed up WAY WAY too much glue & water (seriously, I made like 10 times more than I needed)... so I came up with 2 whole other projects based on these challenge themes to do with my free afternoon! This craft along is awesome for inspriration!  They are both upcycle projects I've been intending to do something about for a while so I am so pleased to finally manage to get going with them! I'm putting exclamation points on all my sentences!
One will be done once it's dry (my alchemy class project) and the other two will need more glueing later tonight once todays stuff is dry(ish), then a little bit of finishing once they are all properly dry but I'll have a few bits to report over the next few days hopefully  

see how much I can achieve now I have an OWL project I need to procrastinate from?

I've worked on some of my OWL project but have missed some days because of swaps, orders, and I just started homeschooling my daughter. I have only gotten 15 ATCs made but will do some catching up soon.

Dear friends, I just wanted to let you know I may not be around as often on the thread for the next two weeks.  We're knee-deep, neck-deep in our build of Dangerous Liaisons, and I'll be working without a day off for at least these next two weeks.  :-(  I will have time to stop in and read through the thread every now and then, but I might not be as vocal.  Please know I'm loving and adoring all the wonderful things you are creating!!!

My RL world has been nutty , and I thought some quick crafting while I caught up on Face Off would be a nice & relaxing break.

Project Name: Aloe Vera Dishcloth (made from that scented cotton)
Pattern: #36 from The Big Book of Dishcloths
Brief Description: This is my quick, go-to dishcloth pattern.  I have been working on building up my dishcloth stash so I can reduce my use of paper towels (and destash my massive cotton stash).

Project Name: Bright Orange Hat for Kay
Brief Description: My daughter loves to craft.  She was feeling low and asked to go to the craft store to pick up a project to work on (she picked out a bird house to paint and hang on her tree).  While there we ventured to the yarn (she knows I love to peek at the yarn), and she spied this BRIGHT skein of Vanna Radiant Orange.  She asked if I could make her a hat from it, and of course I said, "I would love to."  (She is a sucker for hats and bright colors.)  This brought big smiles.  I let her pick out a pattern; she chose a simple sideways, single crochet rib hat.  And now that it is done, she is full of cheer (and so am I!).  I do think that a large pompom may be added in the future since she is dropping hints about it.

I've been really into my OWL the past couple of days, I'm almost through my first bag (4 oz) of yarn! The twist is setting right now. I can definitely tell which two skeins were my first! I think I'm going to add a side project - build a niddy-noddy out of PVC in order to easily wrap and measure the yardage of my handspun.

OWL Subject: Alchemy
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Halloween Costume - Steampunk Tinkerbell
Brief Description: I'm a children's librarian, and we are allowed to dress up for Halloween if we dress up as a kids' book character. The Disney version of Tinkerbell is definitely *not* within the city dress code! But seeing as how Tink is a tinker fairy, I thought she would be perfect for a steam-ified costume. It will be a challenge to figure out a way to make her recognizable, while steampunked. Anything involving sewing scares the bejeebers out of me, so I will have to get over that, too!

The costume will involve cosmetics, dye (my hair!), and metalwork (wings), but definitely *not* gunpowder!
