After much debating, I have chosen what I would like to do for my first OWL!

OWL Subject & Option(if available): Charms
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Counter for Confundus
Brief Description: I've always marvelled at the talent of those who are able to create handspun yarn. I've drooled over the Fiber Fridays and listed it as something loved in multiple swap questionnaires. Last winter, I received a drop spindle and a bit of roving in a swap. I recently played with it a bit, and was able to repel the Confundus charm that has been on me a bit. With the goal in mind of countering the Confundus, I purchased 12 oz of roving to play with. In order to counter the Confundus charm, I plan on watching many videos on the muggle "YouTube" and research how to properly use the drop spindle to turn this roving into yarn.

This is a worthy OWL indeed.  Spinning is truly magic!

I think many of us are crafting the Back to Hogwarts swap.  I bet we'll have an explosion of projects once all packages are received; I know many of my items will also fulfill my Fall Classes. Cool

I squeaked in my Black Lake paper-cutting because I took a short pause from B2H. Everyone's assignments look smashing! seeuudee's inchies are fab, patty_o's scale nails make me jealous, and lightninglisa's Sunshine hoop makes me happy, just to name a few. Can't wait to see more.

With the semester on it's 2nd week, it is time to get to Quidditch Practice...

~*September Quidditch Challenge*~
For the Fall Semester, the Quidditch Team will be on the field practicing, and so that no one falls behind in their classes, we also will be doing a bit of studying.  ...Okay, moaning will not help.  As your Captain, I must stress the importance of studying; if you fall behind in classes, the teachers will not approve our practice time.

For our first Quidditch Challenge of the season, we will be honing our crafty magic with a warm-up exercise.  September's Quidditch Challenge is to craft an item that takes you 30 min-1 hr to make.  This item CAN be submitted to ONE class as well (meaning you earn 2 badges for one project).  Once you complete this challenge, you may snag your September Quidditch Badge below.

Now go out there and CRAFT!

To claim your badge, right click and save to your computer.  Then, you can do whatever you wish with it.  Ideas on how to showoff your badges: use it as an avatar, put it in your profile under Brief Bio, or create a pinterest board for all your badges.  Can't find a badge?  Head to the Badge Station located on the first page, fifth post of this thread.

Omg, penguin, those pancakes look so flipping good!  *mouth watering*  I need to eat lunch!

I finally have a project to post!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Charms
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Dinosaur Cupcakes
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=414082.0
Brief Description: This weekend, I was in charge of cupcakes for a baby shower.  My sister's friend was so happy to find out that I was making them!  They ended being big hit and everyone loved 'em!  I made two flavors, though I didn't seem to take pictures of them both.  With a lot of the cheering charm baked in, I made extreme chocolate cupcakes w/ fudge butter cream frosting, and white cake cupcakes w/ a whipped cream cheese frosting.  And each had either a blue or green dinosaur chocolate pick that I made on top!  Mmm!  (I made up a quick tutorial on how to make these chocolate picks for cupcakes, too!)
Project Picture:

Apparently Dinosaurs are not longer at the top of the food chain!  Husband are much higher up!
