Woohoo, project #1!

Class: Alchemy
House: Gryffindor
Project: Craft protector and thread collector

We are starting to have a collection of baby wipe containers around the house - we buy the huge 9x refill box, but it always comes with a set of wipes in a new box as well.  Once I started her birth sampler, I realised that the kitties would be prone to playing with the threads, and could also mark or stain the aida cloth.  I'm also only using bits of thread at a time, so I wanted a way to save the rest neatly.  Hence the scrabook paper +  modpodge box, with little cardboard thread holders!

That's just a small selection of the threads, as I've only just started the sampler.  I'm hoping to post some in-progress pictures of the sampler in a bit!  Tomorrow my husband is taking her for a daddy-daughter day (aka Mommy's Sanity Saver Day) so I should be able to knock out some more work on it.

-OWL Proposal-

OWL Subject & Option:  Divination, option 2 - create a dream item
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Dream Journal
Brief Description:
I'd like to make a dream journal.  I'll make a decorative binder, fill it with the actions and thoughts of my dreams, and a drawing about each one.  Daily, or when I can remember, I'll make a page.  I plan on doing 30 days or to at least 20 dreams.  This will be a challenge for me because I'm a person who will craft day and night to get my project done.  The challenge will be patience.  I will have to wait for at least 30 days for this to be finished.

OWL Subject & Option (if available): Potions: Option 1- Show off your ability to work with many ingredients by showcasing 3 different colors/pattern/textures.  Colors can be monochromatic.  A variegated yarn or one fabric swatch with various colors within it count as one color.
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Wedding pomander bouquet with crochet and sparklies
Brief Description:
We're getting married on the very next friday the 13th, which falls in September 2013. We want our wedding to be very much "ours", incorporating what we like. Among other things, I'll be making my own quirky bouquet. Since I don't like having to hold something all day long, I'm going for a pomander style, I'll be crocheting (or crafting in a different matter if the crochet doesn't come out that good) different kinds of flowers, and I'll be encorporating old brooches and jewellery and gears and steampunky stuff. I need a break from crocheting gears for the hem of my wedding skirt!

OWL Proposal

OWL Subject: Astronomy, Option 2
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Crochet Solar System
Brief Description: This solar system model pattern from Crochet Today (link on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/solar-system-mobile) has been on my to do list for AGES. I'm a pretty slow crocheter, so this is going to take me a while; I'm going to aim for three planentary bodies a week (!!!) to complete the project in four weeks.

P.S. tiamatfire; that's a great upcycle! I love the idea of having a project box, my supplies always end up just spread all over the dining table ~_^

I just finished my detention with Snape...who knew that he didn't like to be called Mr Snappy (shrug)
my arms are tired from scrubing cauldrons. Oh well, the look on his face was worth it!  Lol
I'll post my detention project tonight.
