I love this blanket so they should Adore it!!!  Talk about cutting close to a deadline.  Not sure if I have that amount of confidence in myself to finish on time. LOL

Wow! Lovely! Did you use a pattern? I always love those tree of life knitted afghans but know I don't have the patience to knit one. This might be feasible! In baby size. A small baby.

I can say with utmost certainty that they loved it!  That must have taken forever to make - it looks gorgeous.

I wish I had more crafty friends to do something like this for me.  But maybe like raennn said maybe I hint to get it as a baby present eventually.

I used the pattern off of the Lion Brand site. I did change it to make it bigger. The pattern on the site is only 3 trees wide and two rows of trees and one of the flowers in the middle. DH wanted it bigger so bigger I went!

I worked on it for about 2 months. I started at the end of June. I tend to do things like this for all my friends who get married or have babies!

I know what you mean about wanting more crafty friends to do something like this for you. I've gotten burnt out on making things that aren't/can't be reciprocated! I know we have organized craft swaps on here for that, but it's not the same thing with strangers.

That's why you make friends with your partner! I'm still in touch with a couple people I've swapped with in the past!

Beautiful! I love the effects with light ad shadow, and it's such a great way to make it wedding themed with the double trees. I've never seen trees and flowers done like this, do you have any helpful links?

I got the pattern off of the Lion Brand site. If you're not a member of their site you'll need to sign up to be able to see it. It was a free one.

Really cool! I love it when you can make designs like that merely with texture changes. It's fun watching the image appear, isn't it?
