So my mom and I (but mostly my mom) are working on decoupaging old ugly suitcases. We aren't quite done yet as the weather has been fairly crappy to work on these outside but I wanted to show what they look like so far.

Used to be an small, old. ugly, dirty suitcase - we've prettiefied it with pictures of flowers, black and white checkered paper.

One side of the case - dont mind the flash.

Open to see that it's not quite finished. Need to do that white part and add finishing touches.

This one was an ugly blue suitcase - also fairly dirty and smelly.

Decoupaged part of a map on the front here with an old ticket stub, and a couple of photos.

Picture of the other side - other half of the world with one post card.

Open. We have to put on a couple of more coats of black paint around the edges and the handle and make a few small finishing touches.

And we also have about 4 other suitcases waiting for us to pretty-fy them!

Thanks so much! Smiley We are looking for more maps to put on other things but we'd like to age them in tea first, to give them that brown look.

Maps are fun. Cheesy

Neat-o! The checkers behind the flowers are especially nice.

How do you use these when they're finished? As suitcases, or in some other way?

Thanks! Smiley Those suitcases were really cheap - either a buck or two or free! You should find some and try it out.
