I <3 october!

I began making tea towels and dishtowels using what I call "the cursive stripe" for gifts for friends... I've made several, but this was the one that started the whole thing!

This was made for a friend who LOVES October and everything it brings... fall weather, Halloween, pumpkin flavored everything...

It was easy and quick to make. I used three strands of dmc floss, backstitch and french knots for the dots over the i's... I just drew a line with a ruler, wrote out iloveoctoberiloveoc toberiloveoctober with a disappearing marker, and stitched away...



I didn't get a picture of it ironed, but I love how it turned out...

Your cursive stripes will soon become a collector's item since it is not being taught anymore in a lot of schools!

How lovely your writing is...and how simple the design...who knew handwriting could be so elegant?

thanks for the feedback! i feel the same way about cursive and i try and incorporate it into more crafts because i feel like it's disappearing! i have made a few others... if i have photos, i'll be sure and share! i'll also be making more this holiday season, so i'll post pics of those as well.
