Hi everyone! I'm not sure if this is a plaything or should be under clothing, so feel free to move if necessary.

I made this for a personal swap for Foxy Sam. She had a dragon puppet scarf on her pinterest, and knowing that she loves dragons and teaches AND was doing story telling with her kiddos I just knew I had to help out a fellow teacher Smiley

So onto the many pics!

For his eyes, I cut a Styrofoam ball in half and covered it with fabric (A little eyeball making tip I borrowed from BirdBones  Grin)

I sewed some batik and jersey knit together to make some fire  Smiley

The scales took WAY longer than I anticipated- I miscalculated and didn't make enough, I think I ended up using over 80! Sewing and turning all those 2 inch scales- I will admit I cursed a few times... I love the way they look though  Smiley

See? I told you it was a scarf  Smiley

You can check out Sam's pics on the personal swap page here -it was a little overcast when I tried to take pictures so her colors are more true to life.

Thanks for peeking! C&C always welcome!

This is great. Very creative.

OOoooo!  Whiskers!  In Foxy Sam's pic I could not figure out why you put thin brass rings in his nose.  Now I can see they are dragon feeler snout tenticals!  Fabo fabo fabo!  I bet it will get pinned alot Grin

Oh my goodness thank you so much everyone for your kind words! TroubleT and wendiek you make me blush  Grin

And yes, they are dragon-snout-feelers-tentacle-whiskers (and not brass rings  Grin) Not knowing much about dragons (other than what Peter, Paul, and Mary taught me, but we all know they were actually singin' about herb...) I had to do some dragon research and realized all dragons have dragon-snout-feelers-tentacle-whiskers- so I used some leather chord that I had kicking around- perfect dragon-snout-feelers-tentacle-whiskers  Grin

This is just awesome!!!! I think the fire is my favorite detail. The scales were definitely worth all the work! Amazing!

Thanks guys! I'm beginning to think that I need some sort of puppet clothing now  Grin

I love the fire too Abbeeroad! I had the toughest time thinking about how to make the fire, I tried a couple of stuffed flames first but they just didn't look right. Then I just  fiddled around sewing some scraps together and was pleased with how it came out. (I say you can never go wrong if you go scrappy  Grin)
