http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10015-1.jpg

hiya all. i made some of these over the last month or two and havent posted pics yet as i was waiting to send one in a swap and didnt want to give the game away lol.........

anyways one day i was sitting there fiddling with a odd blob of soft pink poly clay in my hand and found myself pressing it into a spent bottle top just messing fiddling while watching tv thinking about what i could do with the clay using the bottle top to make prints and then i ralised i was making a tree in the bottle top not with the bottle top......... so i pulled in my focus grabbed a cocktail stick and made.......

http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10007.jpg

the bottle top tree needed a friend..so i decided to make a set of earth, air, fire, and water.....
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10027-1.jpg

Earth=the tree
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10016-1.jpg
air= a dove
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10008.jpg
fire= a volcano
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10009-1.jpg
and water= a seahorse
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10010.jpg
and turned them all into  fridge magnets....

then as my rats are my  true love i found myself sculpting a little image of of one of my hairless rats sausage into a bottle top..........
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10014-1.jpg

totally hooked on sticking things in bottle tops i promptly went out an bought a big bag of 50 bottle tops for 1

i then made another similar rat sculpture to send to my swap partner as she has some hairless rats too, and turned it into a pendant
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10027.jpg

i then finally started playing with some coloured clay and made a little black and white hooded rat in a bottle top.......with pendant fittings
http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss34/LilMissHev/Craftster/SDC10013.jpg

i've got about another 45 bottle tops to use up and apart from loads of different rat varieties <3 does anyoen haveany more ideas of what to put in them?

Your sculpting skills are amazing!  And, how great is it that you discovered this by just fiddling around!?

The seahorse is my favorite...the tiny rats are just so cute...the detail in their tails is amazing!

Oh gosh these are great. I love the idea of making a collection of them and working a theme. I'd love to see a variety of birds or maybe a pendant for every zodiac sign. Your seahorse is incredible, so maybe an underwater theme!

I love how creative that is! Maybe do people like pet portraits if you can do that animal, like for example, I ask for two bottle caps, one with my dog Ruth's head in it (as fitting a whole dog body in a bottle cap would be hard unless they're curled into a ball) And one with my dog Naomi, you could do em in all pink clay or colored and charge for em or you could make things like a wishing star, a fairy, festive stuff, like Halloween themed or what not bottle caps, just little things your friends like and what not, Do different kinds of birds, more underwater or nature themed ones, maybe put a sun/moon yin yang thing in one, two opposing elements, Like I'm in color guard, do something to represent that, or Band, Music or dance, Drama, the arts.. there's alot I could think of to help ya out, if you want more ideas, shoot me a message and I'll help in any way I can!

These are very pretty, and I love the details you put into such a small space! Smiley

I love them all!!!

at first I thought the hairless rats were pigs (they were taken farther away, they were pink, and I didn't see the tails or details yet.  sue me), but that would be a cute idea!  little piggies curled up in bottle caps!  Grin  my aunt would TOTALLY need one of them too.  Wink  kitties, small dogs, different birds, mice, candles...anything!  if you can sculpt it that small, ANYTHING can go in there!

These are so great. I would love to see a version of the elements in color, whether with colored clay or painted. I love the idea of scenes like that--maybe you can make a little skyline in a bottle cap! Definitely more animals too Smiley

these are lovely--love your use of monochromatic neutral clay to really highlight the texture and details. how to you affix the hardware to make into a pendant: drill into the bottle cap? glue in eyepin?
