Thanks for posting the pic for me Smmarrt!  I love it so much!  I immediately hung it on the wall in my craft nook.  It's fantastic, and yes, that is absolutely my brain on Craftster, without a doubt.  Thank you for the amazing piece of art.

my rocks do not look like rocks
Try looking at actual rocks, and notice there color. In nature there is no black just dark shades of blues and purples. Ex. if you had made the rocks blue let the watercolors dry and then went in with the black very sparingly and added some texture your rocks; they would have looked like rocks. If you want to keep dabbling with more art less craft, I recommend you take a drawing class. Drawing things and having them look like the actual thing you are drawing is really hard and requires a new way of seeing things.

A little exercise to stretch your skills and help you see.

One of the best things you can do to learn to draw is to take a wild messy looking plant (a real one not a photo) and sit it in front of you, look at the shapes of the plant. If you look carefully you will see the different colors and textures of the leaves make little shapes that make up the leaves. Its not just a tear drop shaped. and that the places between the leaves are also shapes (this is called the negative space, while the leaves are the positive space). Now take one leave and look just at it. Now take a ball point pen and a peace of paper and using one continuous line try drawing the shapes you see making up the leave, you can draw over your lines to make new shapes and don't worry if you make a mistake. After about 15 to 20 times of doing this your leave will start to look like the real thing. And once you have that down, try drawing the negative spaces in the plant using the same technique, after a few times of doing that it will also start to look like a plant. Plants are the easiest thing to learn to draw from life, they almost always look good even when you mess up.

Keep trying you will get there.

thank you  I will try that out

All he art I've seen so far is great.  Esp. the piece that johnson.mom2two received and the one that Lady_Lilybell received from alwaysinmyroom.

I received today from jenn90000.

It's made with acrylics and is a silloutte of 2 birds watching the sunrise/sunset.  I love it.

I've recieved from Homerof2!  I knew who it was simply by the address, as I know where she lives, and drive by her town once a year.  It's yet to work out for a proper in person meeting, but it will one day Smiley  Anyway Here's what she sent!

4x6 piece of art from Homerof2 on Craftster.org by SpinHeartSpin, on Flickr

I love it.  Circles, and buttons, and pretty fabric are all things I absolutely adore.  It worked out perfectly!  Thank you Homerof2!!

I received another wonderful piece of artwork from dreadlady! I've been lucky enough to be paired with her twice now. I love the shading and the color of this happy blue bird.

Thank you so much!!!

LOL, Homerof2!  It's crazy, that we could meet 1/2 way, and it would probably be a day trip, or at best an overnighter (if we were against driving 6 hours in a day), and then it takes the postal system a whole week!

The two bird pieces are wonderful!
