It's been a while since I have posted any of my birds. This flamingo was a recent special request from a friend of mine that moved to Alaska and needed something bright and cheerful to keep her company.

And this little magenta and yellow song bird I have had done for a while, but I somehow forgot to share him. I was trying to recreate the original green canary that my future mom in law now has with more colors. I think this one has been the closest, but he is a little bigger than the original.

Really love the flamingo with its unusual square eye.  The pose is exactly right.

Thanks guys! Cheesy

I thought the square eyes would be the perfect touch of silliness. I gave my friend the option of felted eyes or buttons, and she wanted buttons. I asked her what color and she wanted a surprise. The color isn't too crazy, but in person, they reflect the light really strangely with a yellow-ish rim around the border. The buttons came from a vintage stash I acquired when living in Florida still.

The pose was also super hard to balance, but I am glad it worked (and that it wasn't windy outside Wink )

Haha, thanks. I took advantage of my magical (civil engineering) abilities Wink Taking a whole bunch of classes dealing with load paths has kinda made this thing a snap for me Cheesy

Oh goodness, he's too quirky and adorable. I looooove the proportions on these two. The flamingo.... <33333. Love that pose, love the awkward little square eye, love those exaggerated body parts. I'm just a wee bit jealous of your friend!
