I am so glad you liked your packge, Koreena, and I have to laugh  . I didn't consider the card box a gift, it was just something to put the necklace in. But they are great on their own, aren't they. And, yes, I learned it from UTube. I think it was the first "how to" I found, but not the last. I buy boxes of old cards at thrift shops (do I shop anywhare else?) and have made lots of them. If anyone is interested in making them, I recommend using newer cards, the really old ones tend to crack when you fold them. (I don't go to the trouble of scoring them, but that might eliminate the cracking." I also made some out of Monopoly money, but they are not as sturdy. They are very easy to make. If I rememeber correctly, a 9-year old made the tutorial.

The skate key necklace was my favorite piece to craft. I found something interesting while searching the internets--how to quickly age metal. The safety pin was old, but still very shiny. I lightly sanded it with an emery board, then dabbed it with hydrogen peroxide and let it dry. After repeated dabbings over a coulple of days, it developed a crusty patina with some rust. I very lightly dabbed some spots with a dark alcohol ink and sealed it. I want to try this on other projects.

Thanks!  I started looking at lindyv's likes and they all just seemed to come together.  Harry Potter & sugar skulls & hooplas & pink...  The sugar skull Harry Potter design was from Craftster's own erica_tattoos.  Then I had this terrific snakeskin fabric that I used for the He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named background.  I tried very hard to use my newly received (surprise!) glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread for the sugar skull but I couldn't find a needle with a big enough eye to thread it through.  I'll have to work with it a bit more to get it figured out, I guess.

I got the coolest of the cool package from Queenofmarigold today!
Tuesdays are my busy running the kids around why does everything have to fall on Tuesdays day, so coming home from Ballet practice (Morgan's not mine!  ) it was such a NICE surprise to find my surprise package in the mailbox!

Jake's extra stretchy tongue is also the closure strap fitting over a button which is his nose! CLEVER!!!!!!!

Then, as if I couldn't be SURPRISED enough, I opened the needlebook and there she was in all her HOT LUMPY GLORY...

Side Note: Adventure Time is a show on cartoon network about a 13yr old swashbuckling hero (Finn the human) and his brother (Jake the Dog) who defend princesses all over the Land of Ooo. I can't get enough of this show. So sue me.

Well, I have some catching-up to do!  Everyone seems to be receiving at once:

Starting with the last post:  I love those fingerless gloves, queenofmarigold!  The colors are a cool combination, and I love that the stripes are random.  The needlebook is cute!

Muddy21--wow, what a hoop!  Talk about original!  You did a great job of combining Lindy's "likes".

Craftsunderground, I love your package even more now that I can see close-ups of everything.  The necklace is so cool; thanks for telling us how you rusted the metal pieces.

Strawberryh, what a great package!  The ring and necklace are wonderful; and the bacon dishcloth is too funny!

Bunnie Boo, the dragon hoop is gorgeous!  I guess you used variegated thread.  Chester the monster is cute, great crocheting!
