This was a project that I've had sitting in my art room for while. Which I have seen just baby doll head planters. But I wanted to make mine original and a bit more different.

I found this baby doll at the thrift store.

Then with an exacto knife, I cut the very top off the head.

Next I spray painted it. (I didn't purchase water proof or outdoor spray paint, which you'll need if it's going to be out doors. If you keep it indoors you'll need something under it to catch any overflow of water.)

Then I found the perfect plant that does pretty well with minimal work.

FYI: The baby doll was a little top heavy which is why there are rocks behind it.

Thanks for stopping by.  Cheesy

What an unusual idea.  I have never seen a baby doll planter before. I like the silver paint job and would love to see a follow-up picture when the plant is a bit bigger.

I love this!  I collect old dolls for butchering up...I have a head pincushion but I think I need one of these planters! Cheesy

You did a fab job...and the hens 'n chicks is perfect since it require so little water and care!  I am wondering if silicon caulking could be used around the legs and other "leak" areas to be able to make an indoor planter...or I suppose you could just use a pot in the head (?) Wink

Anyhoo--unusual but funky project...thanks for sharing!

Too fun!  I'm thinking several of these on my front porch will be *awesome* for Halloween.  I don't know if I can wait that long though!

Thanks, I love these type of unique projects. Yes, I post an updated pic once the plant grows bigger.
We've had some rain recently and it's doing just fine outside.  Cheesy
