Problematic Pachyderm

I can honestly say, I hate this elephant. Its adorable, it turned out great but I loathe this thing. I found the pattern online and it looked simple enough but no. The woman who wrote it, who did a lot of work on the pattern and is so kind to offer it for free, just was so hard to follow really. I couldn't even find where she made the trunk in it! What is used is what I made for his TAIL! It was outrageous...It took me four days...I used nearly an entire skein of yarn and almost all my stuffing bag is gone. I cannot even keep it in my bedroom to look at. I made it for a high school friend who just had a baby and has a jungle-themed nursery. The sooner I get it outta my sight, the better!

Shame. So much work and you hate him.  But that often happens to me especially with knitting where it takes me a long time to make anything and then I end up giving it away because it didn't turn out like I wanted.  I really hope you have more fun with your next elephant. His feet are very realistic though, and he has a sweet little expression on his face.

Its ok! I never planned on keeping it, it was for her baby's nursery and she absolutely adored him! She kept going on and on about how vintage he looked.  Sadly, the hat I made her was too small, that was annoying.  I gotta redo it, her 3 wk old baby wears 3 mo old clothes, hahaha!

I wonder if it isn't time to resize baby clothes.  So many babies nowadays are larger at birth than the traditional newborn sizes.  It isn't that they are obese or anything just that maybe we are better nourished than our grandmothers were so our babies are healthier and larger.

Very true...We couldn't even stretch the yarn enough to get it to fit! Oh well, I'll sell it in my etsy shop
