Angry Sun

So the heat wave this summer inspired an angry sun doll.  I imagined him screaming heat down on us for the last couple of months.  I hid inside and knit this.



It's the first time I've designed my own knitted toy.  I played around with short rows for the shaping on his neck and stomach.  Here's his bulging belly.

From the thumbnail, I thought you'd depicted an anime character I didn't recognize, but this is better. Living in a state whose summers have been described as "a hundred days at a hundred degrees and a hundred percent humidity", I understand the concept of an angry sun. Shade is friendly, not the sun.

I love it!! We are suffering the sun's heat as well and surrounded by fires so it's also extremely smoky and suffocating so this depicts my feelings exactly of the sun! I love his body shape so much!!!!

Okay, SpookyPooky, you just gave me something to pull me up short next time I'm complaining about the heat and humidity. At least the moisture here means we rarely get wildfires.

It's pretty bad. I live in Idaho and a little less than an hour out of Oregon and our entire valley is burning up, sadly.

The weather has at least calmed down here since I finished him.  People are actually thinking of fall coming.
