I just saw a tutorial on Pinterest for making your own gift bags from newspaper. I think the maps would make cute gift bags!

Great thread - great ideas! I have a bunch of maps too. I love to decoupage with them. There's also a lot of ideas floating around on pinterest.

Similar to the decoupage idea, you could use the maps for paper mache crafts. The maps would provide a cool print on a paper mache craft so it wouldn't have to be painted when it was done.

I've used maps as backgrounds to a couple of my paintings before..I mod podge them to the canvas or surface, and add a real thin coat of paint on top so it's colored/textured but you can still see the map through it. So there's that...It's a cool look.
