Ok, I have the front panel shape figured out and cut to size so that I can start putting on the lace.  I have a pattern for the sleeves, but what do you suppose the side panels look like?  Or do you think the whole thing is just three pieces?  The front hourglass and then two sides that button in the back?

I've never seen the pattern pieces for a victorian baby dress so I can only make guesses.

ETA a couple more photos of different dresses

Isn't it some kind of circle skirt  with a different front panel?

Hmm, that could work for the skirt, it's the bodice that is really stumping me.

I dont think that  there are buttons on the back in regards to the  pictures,
The  neckline is pretty wide .
And  i  wonder if you put buttons an a baby dress in the back !?

I have plenty of vintage dresses that button all the way down the back.  I just assumed this one did as well.  Although, making it without buttons might be easier lol
