So I am in the Navy now, and I have decided that I am going to get yarn from every single place I go during my service. I want to knit (or crochet) all of this yarn into one project, I believe a blanket.

Since i can't guarantee getting the same size/type of yarn from wherever I go, does anyone know of a pattern for anything that I could use to incorporate everything? I was thinking blocks or stripes, but even that doesn't guarantee I can get the gauge to match!

If you do blocks, you won't have to match gauge, just make them all the same measurement - 6" or 8" or whatever. Hopefully you'll be able to get compatible fibers so it can washed without a lot of hassle.
