Ok ... so i turned a shirt and skirt into ... a shirt and a skirt!

It gets better, I promise.

My purchases from Thrift Town (self-proclaimed Greatest Thrift Store in the World)
oversized men's pinstriped button-up shirt - $3.99
a-line wool skirt - $2.99
left-over black knit material - $1.00

Before:

After:

How i did it:

The Shirt:

The shirt was sort of stretchy, so i cut it out like one of my tee shirts, and sewed up the sides. I also sewed up the buttons so that it doesnt unbutton anymore. I had already turned the black piece of knit fabric into a little turtleneck tube to sew to the top.

The Skirt:

Inspired by a skirt at Anthropologie (of course). First I cut a little rectangle out of the side of my skirt. Then I ironed pleats out of the sleeves and sewed it into the hole. I covered up the raw edges with a thin strip of the fabric.

Wow. That's soooo fantastic. That's the exact type ot outfit I love wearing when I need to wear "parliamentary dress" -- pinstripes and pleats and sassy! I'm definately stealing this -- such a great idea, and great implementation on your part! Great job!

I was just thinking, Geez who am I going to vote for, its so hard. You've just made it harder.  I LOVE what you made. Its just my style and I want to come over to your house and steal it. Wink.
Is the turtle neck part attached permanantly or can it be removed?

You did a great job!
