I painted a barn quilt on wood with acrylic for my mother's birthday and I don't know if I need to seal it or if the acrylic paint would hold up alright on its own since the barn quilt will be hung up outside. Any ideas? I hope I put this in the right category! Thanks!

I say seal it - the weather and sun will wear away and fade the paint, especially if they are bright colours.  There are spray on sealers for protecting finishes for outdoors that you can find in local hardware stores and craft stores.  I think Krylon makes one or more.

I painted a garden pot with acrylic paint and it faded really badly.  I'd seal it.
