Hi - pretty new here...

I would like to know how everyone uses their newsletter/mailing list.

Do you send out a once a month long letter with content. Just periodic sales notices? A letter to your customers" Pictures of your pets? I am jsut curious as to how people use their mailing list and what some creative ideas may be to sustain and increase readership. Do you enjoy newsletters or are they a chore?

Be Inspired!

I haven't heard "newsletter" in a long time. Most folks just blog now, but if you have a loyal customer base it's good to send them targeted news about your work now and then since they may actually buy something. Pictures of your dog - er, no, not unless your dog is a regular, recognized part of your customer relations. What you just made, why you made it and where to buy it - absolutely. Just make sure your customers have the option to unsubscribe.

Whatever you write, make it short and sweet. Lengthy articles with huge paragraphs - nobody can get through that. Short articles, short paragraphs, lots of headings so folks can read what they want to read. And pictures of your work.
