I really love these. Even if someone didn't know the Coraline story, they are still very artistic and fun, I would wear them in a heartbeat. And I rarely wear jewelery. But since I do know the Coraline story, they are even more interesting to me. The scene that sticks out the most to me is the first time Coraline sees "the other mother" with the button eyes. Very scary part, and these buttons are just what I imagined they would look like. Creeptacular!

p.s. this opinion is just by way of the book, I've not seen the film. Smiley

I'm constantly thinking of how to do the necklace.  I suddenly may have come up with an idea actually!!!  lol!!  how crazy is that?!  but I have to see what kind of buttons I have on hand.  I have the other items I need to do it, just gotta check on the button.  Wink

Oh, I forgot to say how I think it's genious thought to use actual thread to make spool charm! I just may copy that idea...

I'm glad you came up idea for necklace and can't wait to see how it turn out! I was just about to suggest using a key for pendant or marbles that were those kids' souls...

yes!  and actually it's embroidery floss (I happened to have a small piece left over from another project), but it's still real thread.  I had a plastic spool with "thread" button.  I would have just cut off the shank and glued a bail on it, but then I found the little wood spools that I could put real thread on.  plus, the buttons had blue and green "thread", and that wouldn't have worked for me.  though I could have painted it.  I still like the realness of the wood spool.  Smiley

I was thinking of using a key, but...hmmm...there's another idea.  I still have to check out my button situation, but if my first idea doesn't work out, I have a backup.  Wink  the marbles would work too, I'd just have to figure out how to make them a pendant.
