Down the rabbit hole - come visit with Alice and her friends...

I added a bit of a twist to the mini book pendants I have been making lately and added a resin component.  This is a bit of experimentation that I am quite happy with. 



I took a disc cutter and cut a hole out of the front cover of the copper piece that I had already added patina to, etched, and finished.  Then I covered the back, added a wee teensy bit of resin, floated a picture of Alice in it, and domed a bit more resin on top. 



When the resin cures, it becomes an almost totally transparent window. 



Here is the back cover, with a large mushroom for the Caterpillar to rest on



The inside is pages with Alice images decoupaged on, and a couple of my favourite quotes from the book.

I saw you Mad Hatter one first, and I love both of them.  But I'm very partial to the Alice one, just a personal preference for the character.  Both are awesome though.

I liked that image of Alice entering through the door - makes me think that when you open the book, you are following her through the door to Wonderland.  Next time, I may play a bit with lightly tinting the images - my only worry is, because it is unsealed paper, any colorants would run with the resin.  I want a light wash of colour, like with pastels or water colours, not a heavy shot of it, like with a Sharpie marker.

Thank you!  I am finding I am having a bit of problems with the pages sticking with the mod podge, so I am going to have to play with adhesives or finishes, or some other way of decorating the pages.
