I've been wanting to paint my headboard for years. It was my in-laws, and they gave it to me when I got married (17 yrs ago(yes, I procrastinate  Roll Eyes)).  So last year I bought some chalk paint and redid my dresser and nightstand, but for some reason didn't do my headboard. So when I was vacuuming under the bed yesterday and had to take the bed apart to do so, I removed the headboard and spent this morning painting it.

I've been in a craft slump this year, so it was fun to get crafty again. I used gold paint as the highlight. It looked too flat when it was just off-white. I love the chalk paint. No sanding or priming was required.

Thanks for looking!

That dark colour looked like old ladies stuff.  I love what you've done with a tired looking old piece!

This is great! I've been looking for a headboard exactly like that for a while now! The white makes it look so fresh.  Smiley
