I have really fallen in love with lace. I've had the "I Can't Believe I'm Lace Knitting" book by Kay Meadors for a while know and finally did one of the patterns out of it a few months back that I'm quite proud of and thought I'd share with fellow knitters. Apparently no one has done this pattern and put it on Ravelry...I couldn't find it at all (here's my project link: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/clumsymomma/table-cover). It was an interesting and frustrating lesson when it came to blocking this beast and I will not go into any further detail about that process...

Anywho, pictures!

Thanks for looking. Smiley

Wow That is so lovely.  Is it cotton thread or wool?  You are so clever to make such an epic piece.

Thank you. This yarn was amazing to use...Very easy to work with and feels wonderful. I'm going to get more of it in different colors. In case anyone wants to know, the yarn is Merinosilk 25.

That is gorgeous!  I love the detailed pattern.

It looks like a lengthy project though.  Did it take a long time?

Thank you Belladune and SneakyFoxeh!

It was a little time consuming (it took around 2.5 months) but it wasn't as long as I was expecting it to take. I made this for my mom's birthday which is next month and I was expecting it to take several months and that's why I started it so early. Now, I've been storing it and not being able to tell her for the past few months and its been torture! Thankfully, the wait is almost over and it'll be sent off within the next few weeks.  Grin

I can imagine what a nightmare it was to block.  It's beautiful, though - something you can pass down to your daughters, and their daughters.  Very nicely done!

Unfortunately I ran into some issues and it now has to become a Christmas present (we don't live close to each other), so it'll have to stay at my house for a little while longer...Which just means that I can feel it every once in a while for a little longer. Smiley

Thank you very much! I was thinking the same thing...It would be nice for it to become a knit that gets passed down. I know my mother would want to do that and my daughter wanted to snatch it up in the first place.
