Last year, I took part in Round 3 of the awesomely fun Pushing Daisies swap. My partner,
MayhapMurklins, listed Ned, the sweet piemaker who can bring the dead back to life, as one of her favorite characters in the show. So I decided to knit her a Ned doll (with accessories)!

Ned is knitted all in one piece, with embroidered hair and eyebrows and bead eyes.

I was very happy with how his hair and eyebrows turned out.

Here he is from the back. His legs are stiff enough for him to sort of stand on his own (with a bit of balancing). He has pipe cleaners in his arms, to make them a bit posable.

I sewed an apron for him that looks like the one he usually wears while working at the Pie Hole.

I also used clay, a skewer, and wire to make the wooden hand contraption that Ned uses to give Digby a scratch behind the ears.

Unfortunately the hand got broken in the mail, but I think MayhapMurklins was able to fix it.

And lastly, what would Ned the Piemaker be without pie? It was made with clay and a bottle cap covered in tinfoil, and is shown here with my hand to give a sense of the scale.
I designed Ned as I knitted him, and I made the apron, hand, and pie without a pattern too. I used a
lot of pictures for reference!
Thanks for checking out my Ned Doll!
