Zombie Unicorn Inspired by My Little Pony

This was a fun project. I love my random zombie stuff. This is the second zombie unicorn I have done and I am absolutely thrilled with the way she turned out.

The last one I did had a green body and light green mane and tail. Since I didn't want to do the same thing, I asked my husband for his opinion. He suggested purple and it looks fantastic that way! Then I was contemplating what to do with the eyes. Because of the large, stuffed toy like proportions, I decided to go with something reminiscent of My Little Pony. And then I used an ever so slightly opaque glaze over the painted eyes to add that milky effect. I think I might add one more layer of that though. Other than that I am satisfied with her.

This unique sculpture was styled after the adorable My Little Ponies, but with a horrific zombie twist. The majority of her body is a classic putrid zombie green color, and her hair is a deep rich purple. She features several wounds including: exposed entrails, a broken and stitched chest area, a chunk of her muzzle missing and exposed bone underneath and a cracked tail. Her eyes were inspired by the My Little Ponies and have a slightly opaque glaze on them to add that hint of milky muted dead look. She's made complete with bruising and splattered blood effects.

Dimensions and Specs- 9" wide x 9" tall by 6" deep (23cm x 23cm x 15cm). Signed and dated by the artist on the bottom. Coated with a spray on finish. Over 8 hours of sculpting, painting and detailing was involved in making this gruesome item.

Part of me wishes you'd left the eyes blank, I kinda liked how it looked before you painted them, but I also like the eyes finished.

It's actually a ceramic bisque base with polymer clay detailing and wounds. Then painted and such for further detailing. The ceramic parts are the most smooth. But you can get finer details with polymer in the wounded areas.

Thanks. I will be doing more weird stuff soon but these are all sort of one offs. I have plans for a cthulhu unicorn but haven to wait until after the new year starts to do it because I am just so busy.
