Patchwork Pillow

This pillow was the result of 2 wonderful weekends of crafty meet-ups that I've been lucky enough to be a part of recently.

Last weekend, I met MareMare for an overnight crafting extravaganza! She and her lovely friend taught me this technique for making quilt blocks. As soon as I got home, I started working on the red/orange square. When I was finished, I decided that I'd turn it in to a pillow to swap at the Seattle Area Craftster meet up this weekend!





The fabrics all came from my stash. I used linen for the border areas and the back. I added a couple stripes of color to the back to make it a little less boring .





I had the BEST time at both meet ups. The lovely and adorable jillybeans ended up getting this in our swap. I scored an awesome hoopla from suereal!! So fun and so special to get to spend time with all of my favorite Craftster'ers in REAL LIFE!!

The pillow is wonderful!  It makes traditional patchwork looks SO modern with the colors and patterns of the fabric, plus the interesting placement of the blocks.  Love it!!

I think this is my favorite pillow I've ever seen. I don't know what it is exactly... but i just really want it. I love the plain background and the non-centered, non-symmetrical pops of color... The hot and the cold squares... Gorgeous!

And I absolutely love it!  It is just so bright and beautiful!  I'm so wanting to learn how to make this!  Perhaps at our next meetup?  ^_^
