I was thinking about buying one pound of the putty mix but how many cameo size molds would that make I'm really new to this.

Alley Goop is a little thinner than most of the other brands of 2-part silicone putty so it will go a bit farther.  

It's hard to know the number of molds you can make though without knowing the size and shape of the molds you want to make, and even "cameos" can be various sizes.  
You could test if you want by using polymer clay to make the kind of mold you want (though the Alley Goop can be thinner usually), then roll that raw clay back up into a ball or cube, and compare that to the same *volume* of putty you'd be getting.  Not sure I'd know how to measure it by weight.
