I'm in a round robin tea towel swap with some friends.  I'm doing variations on a theme and that theme is Bigfoot.

This time he has donned a love Kentucky Derby hat with a big ol' purple flower!  Angle shot, because I love an angle shot to show textures:

I used chain-, stem-, satin stitiches, lazy daisy and french knots.

What a cute theme, and I love the stitching on the hat (and the beard/hair)!

Thank you!  The hat is chain stitch, the beard is satin stitch and the hair is stem stitch.

Next I must say I love the texture in the hair/beard.  What kind of thread did you use?  It's so shiny and twisty!

It's DMC cotton perle, a variagated skein.  I've used it on the other BFs, but not the variagated.  I think it gives him natural tones and highlights.  Wink

Thank you!  You may modify your opinion when you see him in person.   Tongue  Not that I'm ashamed of the stitching, but you know how easy it is to spot thing ones you wish were different.

This is one sassy squatch! I was so delighted to find this today. What an amazing piece of work on this one. His face is so cute, and the stitching on the hat and flower and his hair and... well, it's all do detailed and beautiful. The Queen went to the Kentucky Derby a few years ago and seeing this makes me think of this Bigfoot sitting next to her in the stands. Imagine her reaction to that. lol

You're such an awesome crafter. You made my day yet again. *wild applause*
