i created this for a hogwarts craft along. i was thinking of a phoenix coming up from the flames. i created the paper cutout to trace so the wings would be symetrical, then i kind of liked it so i made a second card with it. i like the tail on the paper card, but i like the background on the colored pencil card....what do you think?

Are the backgrounds metallic? They sort of look that way. I like the tail on the cut out one but I also like the way the heart fades into the bird on the first one. They are both good!

I like both of them so much! If I had to choose a favorite, though, I think it would be the one on the left. I just love colored pencil art. You did great!

If I could merge them both into one card, that one would be my favorite!  Grin I really can't decide; they're both really nice in their own way.

thanks for the input, i think i will do another in colored pencil and change the tail to be more like the paper one. the background is a crumpled cream colored paper glued down to cardstock, then shaded with a gold metalic colored pencil. i've used the berol prismacolor pencils for a long time because they have such a soft lead.
