For the "Put A Bird On it" Swap, I was partnered with the lovely charlieandwillow and as soon as I saw that her interests included Dia de los Muertos, I knew a skeleton had to be involved. Though I was unsure how I was going to put a bird on a skeleton...

My partner mentioned liking finches, tits, and owls, but as there is a grand variety of coloring and shapes for each of these birds, I asked her to give me her favorite in each category.  She responded with: Zebra Finch, Blue Tit, and Little Owl.

And I knew what I needed to do with those birds: bird masks for the skelly.

I knew she would now be the Bird Woman -- always waiting, always ready for the birds to come to her.

The feathers you see above were freely donated by the resident cockatiel (he had already discarded them when I collected them).

*jaw drops* Hardly one to disappoint Mrs. Jivvy.

Insanely awesome!! I love how delicate the tiny masks are, so fragile like a little bird.

Holy cow!

Ehm... holy skeleton, I should say. She is absolutely incredible- I love her posture and can't even imagine how wee tiny those fabulous masks are! This truly is a unique version of "put a bird on it"- I love the way your mind works, Jivvy. This really should be in an art gallery- or worn on a hat to show her off to the world Wink

Dang, micro, you've done it again! This is just so gorgeous! Did you make that skeleton, or distress one?

I love the bird details in the masks. Amazing!

I featured this project today on Craftster's Facebook page. Thanks so much for sharing. Smiley
