sorry I guess I missed last week :/ It's been crazy here! Anyway for this week's questin, I'd start with the lightest and work to the heaviest, rather than go by size. I don't know why but I always judge my gifts by weight!! Smiley

I normally open the smallest first, but it depends on who the present is from. My dad loved booby trap presents, so I often open the present from him that gets the least facial expression.

One year he wrapped a bag of charcoal and gave it to my husband, and kept telling everyone that someone was getting coal as a present. Another year he wrapped a coke box full of plastic grocery bags but did include a gift card taped to the bottom.  When I was 12 he gave me a package of toilet paper wrapped as a Christmas present.  So the lightest are normally the goofy ones, while the heavy ones are somewhat interesting.

My gift unwrapping strategy is totally random--whatever is nearest or on the top of the pile. Smiley

We usually have the children hand out the gifts, so after the stockings are opened, we open whatever is handed to us first.  Although, if there is an extra special gift that we want someone to open first, we make sure that that one is done first.

However, the small ones are usually in my stocking, and typically hold jewelry, so I ALWAYS go for the SMALLEST one first!   Grin

My nieces hand out the gifts, they like to take the biggest presents from under the tree and assume they are for them... It's cute...

I'd be grateful for anything that's handed to me!  But I love thoughtful wrappings   Smiley    I just need to get my arse to the store to get wrapping paper and I should be able to send!

Wow...glad you're feeling better, texscrapper!

Shoot, I just had a tiny cold this past week and couldn't craft, I can't imagine how terrible you must've felt.  And yes, kids and DH can trash a house.  It's amazing how much a wife/partner really holds the household together, and how it's evident when we can't (temporarily).

I'm thinking that I'm going to just have to stop crafting all over the place for other swaps and just finish this one once and for all and just mail.  Or at least wrap everything so the package will be ready to go once I finish the two items.  We'll see.

I would probably open the largest first.  I often find the smaller packages to be delightful surprises, so I like that to come last.  But, I love all presents, so I'm not sure it'd make a huge difference.  Smiley
