Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

I don't have much good memories of Christmas. My parents divorced when I was in 5th grade, and I remember that Christmas being full of presents. I got a camera that year so I took photos of everything.

Most of my bad memories come from this split holiday. I got into my first car wreck trying to drive from my dad's to my mom's on Christmas morning, when I was supposed to also go to my at the time boyfriend's parents house.

For the past few years I've flown my mother out to me for the Holidays and we've had lots of crafty fun. One year she taught me how to knit, then she taught me how to sew last Christmas.

This year I"m going to be back home to hopefully spend lots of time with my 20 month old niece.

I guess if I had to pick a favorite memory it would be when I was in elementary school. My grandfather loves dressing up as Santa, and I figured out that every time my grandpa took a walk in the woods Santa always showed up. I'm not certain why, but I decide to point this out to my cousin who was 2 years younger. When he sat on Santa's lap he pulled on my grandpa's beard and asked him "Why do you have to ask what I want papa, you know I just want you for Christmas" It was so cute and while most of the adults were in shock, I thought it was sweet. Later my grandpa gave me a hard time about it.

My grandpa still dressed up like Santa, but now he volunteers to bowl and pass out presents at children's charity events.

I have so many lovely memories of Christmas with my family.  I think my favorite is probably playing Trivial Pursuit with my siblings and laughing like crazy.  My brother getting smarter as we tried to handicap him by giving him more beer.  Grin  And playing paper-rock-scissors when we couldn't decide on an answer and needed to break the stalemate.  Such fun memories.

I was away from home for one Christmas when I was in France on foreign study and I have really surreal memories of traveling with two of my friends in Rome and going to midnight mass at the Vatican.

WEEKLY CHECK-IN

Alright ladies.  This is the last check-in we will be having because Friday we will begin opening presents.  So, instead of weekly check-in questions we will all be posting photos and comments about our crafty goodies!  Whoo!  Can ya'll believe we begin opening presents friday?!  Oh exciting!  Okay, now, for the last check-in question:

Q:  So, are you finished with your holiday shopping, everything wrapped and ready?

A:  Yes.  Everything is bought, wrapped and under the tree.  The only exception is my dear hubby is getting me a Pug this year.  Well, we're still hunting for one.  So other then the Pug all gifts are bought.  Smiley  So exciting!

Swap progress:  Like last week.  Package has been mailed and received by my partner.  My package from her has been received as well and the gifts are under the tree looking all beautiful.

I could be done, or I might end up with more things to give.  Gifts are not a focus of our Christmas, so if I/we see something someone will like, we might get it for them, but if not, no worry!
