One memory I have my childhood is the one Christmas that my family rented out a house on a mountain for several days. It was so fun playing in the snow and hanging out with my cousins all day. It was also the last Christmas before I moved a few thousand miles away.

I (finally) sent today!

Haha I don't think I was ever a doll kid.... in first grade I was super excited to get one of those cans (of "nuts" or whatever) that you open and a snake shoots out!  That very same Christmas I remember trying to trick people at my grandma's house with it, and the lights suddenly all turned off.  The power was out!  After the freaked-out kids all became calm, it was the best Christmas ever as we got out the flashlights, ate food, and made shadow puppet shows!

When I was 4 on Christmas Eve I had had it with my family. I packed my little bag with my favorite care bears and some undies and I grabbed a fist full of candy canes off the tree and headed out in the snow to run away to my Aunt's house about 70 miles away. I didn't even put pants on. I got to the end of the driveway when my Mom saw me and started freaking out. I was in my snow boots, coat, and hat and it started to snow super bad. Mom kept yelling at Dad to go get me, but he just laughed at me. He asked where I was going, and then he told me I was going the wrong way. I turned around and he said I was still going the wrong way. He got me to come back in by telling me he'd give me directions in the morning, and Mom would pack a better bag for me....I'm ashamed to say I was so easily tricked Sad lol

Im glad I do this check-in questions every year i organize this swap.  It is so fun reading everyone's answers.  It makes the swap more happy and christmas like.  Like were sitting by the fire place with cookies and milk and sharing our stories.  Smiley  On a side note-my husband has announced what hes getting me for Christmas this year.  He kept asking me what i wanted and I just tell him that I dont need anything.  Well, last week he cracked-he couldnt keep it a surprize any longer.  He asked our landlord if he would allow us to have a dog because he wanted to buy me a pug.  And the landlord said yes, and said we could pay a pet deposit, sign papers to make it final and could have a small dog.  (ah, what nice landlords!)  And so, dear hubby is letting me hunt online and in papers to pick out a pug puppy!  I am sooo excited.  pugs are my favorite breed-i just love the snorting, weezing, goofy little things-i truely miss having one.
