Love that this was for a 'put a bird on it swap' because that's exactly what I was thinking! He looks great, especially with the super serious look in his eye.

For a long time, she flew only when she thought no one else was watching.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I was very pleased with how it came out (even with the wonky sewing) and might paint some birds on canvas to put up in my living room.

It's funny that you mentioned the serious look in his eye too Ivy Mae because I actually have that little part of the painting as my phone's wallpaper. lol  Grin ;

the sewing isn't wonky! I am the proud owner of that beautiful pillow which is on my bed. It's even prettier in person. It truly looks as if it can fly off the pillow.  I would be really excited to see what you do on canvas Gr33nT3a! You did such a beautiful job on the pillow and seeing something done on canvas without having to work on material..the detail I'm sure will be amazing!!!!! I hope you post your art!!

This decorated pillow looks beautiful and I liked this animal design. Seriously...you did a  wonderful job.
