Oh, yeah you're right! It would have been better if it was closing out the month. I'm glad you got it! For a while I was thinking I might have to resend.

I don't know her trick, but what I do is use word processing software to make a letter/number in the right size & style. After I print it out, I use that as a template on the paper I'm using for the ATC.

So I need some help on how to display my calendar. Here is an example of a few days in december:

I don't have 26 yet.

I had two ideas. One to get a big frame with the month on the left, similar to the layout above, with all 30/31 days shown.

Or to get one of those flip picture albums. Have a left flip and a right flip. The left side I only flip over each month and the right every day. So I would flip back to the beginning of the days every time I flip a month. This one could go on my desk at work. The other idea I would hang at home.

Thoughts? Other suggestions?

I like both of those ideas, myself... but I do have one other suggestion, if I may.  

I actually have decided I'm going to copy you and make an ATC calendar.  I want to make it a family project so that the kids can enjoy seeing their contributions to it, and it will be a keepsake for hubby and me long after they are grown.  

I have been contemplating the same problem, and I came up with mounting the calendar on a lightweight board and using lightweight strips of wood (balsa maybe) to create brackets that the cards would just slide behind.  It will take a little "engineering" to determine how big the board will need to be in order to make sure that no matter what day of the week each number falls on, there will be enough room for all the cards.  (I'll write the days of the week on the top bracket, leaving enough room before the "1" to place the month in the event that the 1st is a Sunday).  It will also require some monthly shuffling!  I haven't decided yet if it's going to be too much effort to maintain the calendar in this format...  Here's a little diagram; hopefully it helps explain my concept.
