Can't really get my head around the headless troll doll at a yard sale. At least you found it and gave it a good head

SO here's the compleat story.  I found one of those old school black vinyl Barbie cases at a garage sale for 50 cents.  I was excited about the find, so I didn't even look inside till I got it home.  When I opened it, it was clear I had discovered a doll serial killer.  It was filled with all kinds of doll...parts.  None of the heads matched up with the bodies.  And that's how I became Dexter of the doll world.  I didn't play with dolls when I was a kid (Stuffie Love Forever!), so it never occurred to me to craft with them, before my wicked discovery Grin

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

OK, as promised, here is cackle's amazing tin. She chose to do Captain Nemo, from Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Before he was the Captain Nemo that we all know and...erm...love?... Captain Nemo was the Indian prince Dakkar. But after an unfortunate run-in with the British, Dakkar's family was no more, and he became the enigmatic and elusive Captain Nemo of lore.

Cackle depicted Dakkar before his Batmanesque rebirth, lounging on his royal bed with a not-so-fluffy pet (as, she posits, he was probably a bit off from the start. Lots of people lose loved ones without resorting to crazed aquatic anti-imperialist vendettas.)

Even the back is amazing!

Needless to say, this tin is way above and beyond the call of awesome. Thank you so much, cackle!

So awesome! I love those tentacles swirling around everywhere! I know the pillows are clay; are the bedcovers clay as well?

Yep. The blanket, pillows and tentacles are polymer clay. Everything else is cardboard and paper except the two dolphin fish on the head board. And the tin.
BananaAmbush,
I'm so happy you like the tin and glad it got all the way to Korea without losing an arm!

WOW--love the tin used as part of the castle!  It is like a mini theater set for an awesome tin!

The Edward figure is superbly done!  His expression is wicked...and the bed is just so delicate...love the stripes...

Cackle--what a headboard!  Complete with creepy pet...the stuff of nightmares...what beautiful detailed work on the back, sides, front,...if you had not said the covers and pillow were clay, I would never have known!  They truly look like satin fabric!

surreal--I would be eyeing the neighbors where you purchased that dollcase...how totally creepy to find all those doll parts inside...maybe the wicked child who did that turned out to be someone wicked in the neighborhood!  Shocked
