I've been having Paris, well more so the Eiffel Tower on the brain lately and when it came time to start this challenge I knew I would have to include it in this as well! And here is what I made! It measures 24.5"X31.5" inches.

The Back:

The second thing was if I was going to enter the challenge I had to challenge myself as well! So I thought why not make the ENTIRE project out of Charm squares! I mean it was a scrappy charm challenge so I ran with it and bought all my fabrics and cut everything first into 5" Charms.

And I knew already I wanted Pinks and Grays on the back. I also wanted it to stair step down the entire back. So I cut a 1/2" from every Charm and then cut them into 2 1/2" X 4 1/2" rectangles. As shown below...

Then I stitched them into squares, then rows, and then added the rows together...

So Now the back was completed and I began work on cutting for the front! I cut each 5" Charm into 4, 2 1/2" squares...

So with these I made larger squares into my selected backdrop. I then just sewed together charms to created the shape I would need to make my Eiffel Tower out of a Dark Gray and Black...

Now for some reason I didn't take photos before I added the tower, but first I actually quilted my pieces together and found I LOVE basting spray! Stuff is sooo much easier than using pins! So I quilted and evened out the edges first... I didn't want my quilting perfect, so I would let the lines get a little out of control... I wanted for shabby chic than perfect! And it turned out perfect! Ha ha!
Then I made the binding! And yes, again all out of Charm Squares! I just simply cut them each in half and sewed them together to create a 2 1/2" wide chain! As shown below...

I then added the binding all around and it just fit perfectly! So I then added my Eiffel Tower! I used Heat n Bond to place it and I want it to get a little scrappy with time so I didn't turn any edges under... I just used a straight stitch close to the edge and "quilted" it onto the front.
I showed my husband, well woke him up to show him and asked him what he thought... he said it was "fine.." and well that wasn't good enough for me so I thought a little felt would be necessary and yes started with about 5" squares of felt and cut out little flowers that are about an inch to an inch and a half big and added them very last! And voile! I have my "Charming" Paris Art quilt! ..... oh yeah for the hangers on the back side I folded two charm squares diagonally and sewed them into the top corners ( I actually did that before the binding...)

So I know that was very LONG! But I wanted to make sure you all knew just how seriously I took the challenge I made to myself! The ONLY yardage was the batting! Ha ha! I even thought about cutting it into 5" charms first... but thought better of myself! Ha ha!!! I REALLY hope you like it as much as I do! I cut a wood dowel to use as a hanger in the top triangles and it works perfectly!

The Picture in the Middle is my favorite square from the back.... I love this print! It was so Parisian!
Well hopefully you all know how I came up with the name now! Ha, Ha!!!!

Thanks! I found that to be a difficult part! Ha ha! I ended up just quilting it normally and not like I had asked about ... it turned out just as nice I think.

What a neat idea to use charms to make your applique pieces!  The Eiffel Tower turned out wonderful!
