Dragonscale is probably my favorite chainmail weave to make.  It takes a lot of time and patience to make but the end results are well worth it.  So just for fun I decided to make a dragonscale bracelet without a clasp, meaning I had to learn to join the ends of the weave together. Which, on the level of difficulty scale, is one level above dragonscale.  You have to know what you are doing to do it.

I prefer to handmake my own jumprings from spools of wire.  In this bracelet I used 16 gauge silver colored copper for the larger rings and 20 gauge silver colored copper for the smaller rings.  All in all, it took me 8 hours to make this bracelet, which includes the time for coiling and cutting jumprings.  It has 530 rings total in this bracelet and is surprisingly heavy.  And I love it!

I love the way it's so substantial, glorious.

AMAZING.  That is so pretty!  I have mad respect for your patience; I've yet to cultivate enough patience to venture out of the basic Japanese and Euro weaves.  Well done!

I'm also trying to make 7 things a week for a year.  http://mazikeenstudios.blogspot.com/  (Warning: this is usually pretty behind!)

Thank you all! I love big, bold jewelry. And I don't mind the hours I put into some of these pieces.  A long while back I made a dragonscale necklace out of black and fuchsia aluminum. It is gorgeous but won't hold up to wear around my toddler. So it just sits on my dresser collecting dust. I rarely use aluminum; I prefer copper or stainless steel.
