6hrs + bed sheet = a new dress!

Did I mention Im plus sized to begin with AND was pregnant when I made this dress? lol
    suppose I didn't considering that would make my title entirely to long! 

This dress was born out of a lack of things to do and an intense urge to make something for myself, which I rarely have time to do.

I looked at my stash, pulled out an old bed sheet and started working. I wanted the top to wrap because Id been eyeing a shirt in that style so I took a stab at it. It was all really eyeballed honestly. I made a circle skirt and with the left over fabric (it was a king size sheet) I made the top and attached the two. there is a long wrapped belt part that I made from the top part of the sheet and from making my own bias tape (which was CRAZZZZY and wont happen ever again  lol) but I love that whole thing because it hides all the flaws that I made in attaching a wrap top to a circle skirt.

Clever way to use a bedsheet.  I'm amazed it took only 6 hours. I like the wrapover top and the back yoke with the stripes going horizontally. It is a lovely dress.

I love the picture of you seated. You just look so... contented.
The dress is wicked cute too, I adore that easy-breezy fifties style, you can dress it up and down and it can take you from playing in the sandbox at the park with the lil one to dinner somewhere swanky (it's all in the shoes!). Aren't bedsheets just the best source of fabric?
And you're so darn crafty you made a PERSON! Congrats! x
