This tin was made using various g45 papers from  "A Ladies Diary." I like using this rounded shape a lot (though I don't much as I'm still obsessed with house shapes) .
I made a template with graph paper and cut it out of some dense cardboard from the back of a sketch pad. I think it's called book board-used for hard back book covers. It's tough stuff, let me tell ya, and very hard to cut out. Especially curves. To refine the inside curve (it's the hardest to cut and doesn't always come out perfectly) I wrap a piece of sandpaper around around cookie cutter that is the same size or slightly smaller than the inside curve, pop it inside the curve and just twist it until the cut is even and smooth.
The layers of fancy cutting are done with a scalpel.

So pretty!  I love the paper on the back, especially!  You do such a great job on cutting out all those layers!  Very clever use of a cookie cutter, too!  I will have to remember that little trick!

I saw this in the thumbnail, and knew it was yours! It's beautiful and romantic, and very well done. Even though it's not really my style, I still like it.

You've opened up a new world of possibilities to me with the beautiful cover. I am in love with the Victorian era...a more genteel time. Lovely tin.
