I saw a recipe for baking soda clay on pinterest and had to try it. It was so easy and it air dries, and it sands like butter! Anyway, I also saw a clay owl on pinterest that I loved, so I made the owl face out of the baking soda clay and mounted him to a little wood frame.

Love it!  Great colors and polka dots.  I'll have to give the baking soda clay a try!

It's 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup corn starch and 1 1/4 cup water. Mix the ingredients then cook in nonstick pan over low heat, stirring constantly until it becomes the consistency of mashed potatoes. Then put it in a separate bowl and cover. In a few minutes it's ready to use. It air dries and I think it's pretty awesome.

You don't need a permit for a glue gun.

Oh I love this! I made this clay, but it cracked when it dried. Your finish is so smooth, i have craft envy now.  Oh man, and did it dry your hands out like crazy? My kid loved it though. We had fun making it. Love your sleepy little owl. He's great!

I love this. Great color choices and I really like the way you mounted it. Is baking soda clay a similar consistency to paper clay?
