I just started making bread and have gotten it down pat- almost.  I love the smell of it and my lil'one likes to kneed it so it's turned into our Sunday event.  I wanted something to really represent the first harvest and bread and corn dolls came to mind instantly.  I'm glad everything made it safely.  Grin

I'll be glad when the weather cools down a bit so I can bake bread again. Store bread, even "artisinal" stuff, is never as good.

I received a great package from hawkeyes_girl today! Densely packed with lovely handmade stuff, she says she enjoyed making it all, and it shows.

Photos tomorrow afternoon, hopefully. There will be some co-ordination required to get action shots, etc.

Wonder swappers unite!

Wulf and my packages came on the same day! Awesome! His craftsmanship humbles my stumbling attempts into new realms of crafting.

One item I drafted on the fly from a historical tutorial on a website and based on measurements, the other experimental craft I've only done once before.

Piccies to come tomorrow when I can get "glamour shots" of my awesome package!

Have you noticed that pairs of partners have been receiving at the same time? That's so cool!

Glad you liked the harvest basket. The wood came courtesy of my boss - the cedar was scrap he had left over from building a new deck, and the oak branch was one I kept after helping him prune a tree last fall. (Never throw anything out.) Wink Those beans look like a good start to your harvest! There was also another loose stone in the package - did you find it?

Here's the great package I received in return:

First, this excellent personalized Lammas card and the warm fleecy nightcap I'd strongly hinted about. It's a bit large even for my oversize head, but that's so much better than too small, which is the kind of hats I usually get! It'll be easy to make it a bit smaller, but I don't think I'll alter it until I've worn it one night. Large might turn out to be the right size!.

And this extraordinary shirt! Complicated neckline and lace-up cuffs, sleeve gussets, gores for added fullness at the waist - it would've been quite a challenge to sew from a full-size pattern - it's hard to imagine you just drafted it from a tutorial! (It's quite a good fit, by the way.) Sorry about the dull indoor photo - I was planning to do it outside this afternoon, but a thunderstorm got in the way. Angry

Look how great the sleeves are!

But that's not all! Cheesy

The extras included a beautifully-scented jar candle, a pot of deliciously citrus-y lip balm (it's hard to imagine needing that in this muggy heat, but it'll be much appreciated in a few months!), a bottle of essential oil insect repellent (that I can certainly use right away!) and four perfectly-matched pieces of beach glass from Lake Erie. (I especially love beach glass, which you must have somehow intuited.)

And best of all - a lifetime supply of shaving soap! There's a background story here: HG and I were partners in a swap a year or more ago, and she sent me three pieces of shaving soap. Unlike so many homemade soaps it lasts forever - I still have one piece left from the original swap! I mentioned that it was my favourite shaving soap ever, so she sent the rest of the batch!

Thanks for all this great stuff. I hope it was fun to make - it certainly was to receive!

I don't know what is cooler, the basket or the shirt.
Such awesomeness!

Such a great gallery so far!
I'm pretty sure my partner thesillyseemstress spoiled me...I was so excited to find my package on my doorstep last night, but just barely had the energy to open it. I love everything!
Here's a group shot of some of the larger things:

Close-up! this was right off my pintrest, and I know exactly where it'll hang as soon as I'm done posting:

Inside her card, she said to look inside the blue box

I love love love crystals!

I found this last, nicely fitted inside the bottom of the box, and it is too beautiful!

Extras!
A bag of rice, which came in handy immediately. I had a long weekend, and my knee was sore. I love the colors and the pattern.

Candles, white sage (smells great!) and a cute magnetic note/reminder pad for the fridge, which, if you know me well, you'll know how perfect it is too!

Thanks again, thesillyseemstress!
