That's right., this brat has taken me over 7 years to finish. Got the pattern and Hobby Lobby gift card for my 21st birthday and from there is was a rather long story that I won't bore you with. Suffice it to say: I am NOW done, today, 7 years and 22 days later.

She's about 13" x 9" and made with too many colors and stitches for me to want to count.

There are beads in her wings. Those were fun as I've never used them in stitching before.

The floss was mostly DMC but the shiny stuff is something else and the hair on the imp is hand-spun thread from Dragonfly Lotus. Super awesome stuff, Merino and silk... My husband asked when I will learn to spin that thin and I just had to laugh. It is amazing, though.

And the eternal question: what to do with it?

What a wonderful project!  You could sew it to a removable book cover.  Thanks for sharing!

Isn't it the best feeling in the world to finally finish a project like this? Great work!

Nicely done!  I LOVE patterns with beads in them like that!

I like what someone said about making it a book cover.  Otherwise, it would look cool as a decorative pillow (obviously a rectangular type), or you could always have it framed for a wall hanging.
Actually, if you somehow figured out some way of attaching rods to the top and bottom, I bet it would look cool like some sort of decorative scroll on the wall rather than the traditional frame!

It's really inspiring for me to restart a really long running project I have hiding around here too.  Thanks for sharing!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

so so pretty, love the design!
i've never completed a cross stitch project that large before, way to stick to it!
i like the idea of making a pillow cover out of it, although it may need to be a mommy's room pillow so rugrats don't booger it up. Cheesy  or maybe frame it and hang it on the wall?

"What to do with it?"

Put it in a frame and show it off! If something took me over 7 years to finish Id stick it in everyones face the minute they came in my door. Or if that isnt a good idea for you, send it to me since I think it is exquisite!

You guys and your positive words always make me feel good. I think I am liking the rods on top and bottom idea, maybe I'll make space for it on my hoopla wall? Get some non-round items up there? Now to figure out how to make the 7 year old creases go away! But not the rust spot from where I left the needle. I love that spot!
 Thanks you guys!
