This was made for a friend who knows I love to crochet and knit! She gave me specifications of natural gender neutral yarn and wooden buttons. As luck would have it I have wooden buttons Smiley and I had an idea of what kind of yarn I'd be using. This here is Vanna Choices Oatmeal in Worsted weight.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to working up projects.. I guess you could call me Goldilocks - everything has to be just right lol. After working up the base 4 different ways I was glad to have spawned a kind of bowled base. Smiley I did put finger to keyboard and typed up the pattern, so should one be requested again I can whip up another one like it easy peasy Wink

Also, I found out through researching different styles of baby cocoons a few reasons these are sought after as of late. Not only do they make amazing baby picture props but they keep babies warm! Wink Nursing a baby while swaddled in a cocoon helps keep babies hands inside and their lil toesies warm too! So mommy only has to concern herself with feeding because baby is snug as a bug in a rug Smiley. This is what I call win - win Smiley Both mommy and baby are happy

I love it when my friends request items because it shows they have faith in my talents Smiley and I know the items I make will be used and cherished for years to come Smiley.

I hope you like the pics - no baby to add to the photos was handy (lol Wink) so I figured I'd make the photos as pretty as possible Smiley. I hope you like them! Smiley

This looks so soft and snug.  Cheesy  I think the neutral color and wooden buttons help.
It took me a couple of moments to work out how you had the buttons set up though.
Very nice - your friend is lucky!

Hi Navyblue4eight Smiley thanks so much for your comments! Smiley Yes, the button placement had me a bit miffed initally (I don't think a person really needs the botton to hold down the flap but it does give more photo options and this was also as my friend requested Smiley. My friend was kind enough to request a knit viking hat before this that I had to work up the pattern for as I went as well - talk about a challenge Cheesy It definitely stretched my knitting pattern muscle! Wink But she totally made my day by sharing photos of her lil boy in the hat and all ready in costume for Halloween Smiley. I'm sure someday she'll be sharing the photos of the cocoon as well Smiley. Needless to say I'm looking forward to it Smiley
