Hey everyone! I was complaining to my friend Tim about the fact that I love making altered tins but I hate buying Altoids. I find them pricey (mostly because i don't eat the contents). It also doesn't help that they now have raised lettering. He gave me this link to a website that sells glass bottles and tins and such at cheap prices, I thought I would share.

I'm looking for wrist watches or old clocks. Broken or working, doesn't matter! I will swap anything you would like.

Another place that sells Altoid-free Altoid tins is Alpha Stamps. I've just ordered a couple.

My list is utterly dull, flaccid and boring compared to you guys. As you know I hadn't intended to join, so I didn't put any time into thinking it up.

   1. Godzilla
   2. Cthulu
   3. Salvador Dali
   4. Catwoman
   5. Captain Hook

I was going to put Hitler and Hellboy, but thought they'd be too easy and obvious. But fun. There are so many wonderfully brilliant names people have suggested. Edward Gorey! Steerpike! Diamanda Galas! (Is she actually wicked? She certainly sounds it.) Genghis Khan!

Dont worry Wulf, I found your list quite inspired and love the choices I was given!  I bought some supplies for the tin yesterday and now need to acquire some power tools so I can get started!  So that probably won't be any time soon, but I do know EXACTLY what I'm going to do!!!

Cheesy

Now hush! I'm going to be out of the country in early August, so I've got to work on mine when I can, which is now.

I applaud your progress!

Totally OT, but please forgive me.

After six seven long years, I found my unfinished brownstone matchbox.  (see original thread here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=375768.0 ).

I was 99% certain that this piece had been accidentally tossed with some trash, never to be seen again.

Where did I find it? In the top drawer of the jeweler's bench where I work every day.  A drawer I've opened and closed about a gazillion times.  How did I, after all this time, find it today?  I lost something else in that same drawer (only I KNEW it was in the drawer) and ended up pulling the drawer all the way out of the bench.

And there in the far back corner, I saw it. I damn near wept.

[end OT]

*Round of applause*  I could see the whole "movie" as you described that mj.  And I might suggest it's not the drawer, but the gremlin that lives in it that is to blame.  So thanks for the OT...from me at least Grin

Honestly, Racky, I don't think you can use globe trotting as an excuse explanation for your early construction. Don't you always jump in and taunt us that you're halfway done minutes days after partners are announced?

*verybiggrin*

Wulf - you're list is great!

Microjivvy - congratulations on your awesome find! I would have bawled my eyes out at finding a lost treasure like that. I'm so happy for you. Yay!
