Mr. Ollieorange & I bought a cheap kayak last year. The only carts we could find cost almost as much as the boat did! Mr. Ollieorange made this out of supplies we had around and a set of wheels that cost me $10. We bought a second kayak this year. We are able to just stack the boats on the same cart and still move them easily. It's also nice because I can throw my paddling supplies in the cart while I walk to the lake or creek.

As the new owner of a kayak, I love your idea. I might make one for myself.

We are gonna make this for our canoe and hope it holds...  looks awesome. Thank you sooo much for sharing. We tried to design one ourselves last summer and got nowhere.

Good! I know we had a hard time figuring out what to make it out of when we first got the kayak. DH used a piece of rebar and copper pipe as the center axle (just what we had around). We found that we could bungee the cart onto his kayak if we wanted to put in & take out in different areas too. If I'm putting in & taking out in the same place I use my bike lock to secure the cart.
Now I just need some warm weather so I get back out n the water!
